Bluewater Kitchen began as a full service true farm-to-table catering and event company, serving Loudoun County and the greater Washington DC area.

After eight years of successfully providing this offering to clients and gatherings, we have expanded to opening The Market at Bluewater Kitchen in Upperville. Our artisanal market is rooted in the same philosophy as our catering counterpart; we believe that your food is important and providing the best, local ingredients and supporting artisans, affords you a better life. We provide a killer hot order food menu, fresh made prepared meals, grab & go deli items, locally curated artisan goods & farm products, & quick pick up catering for local events, craft beer and wine.

AIM OF POSITION:
It is the responsibility of the Market Hospitality Clerk to oversee all aspects of The Market at Bluewater Kitchen, during your shift with direction from management. As a member of the Bluewater Kitchen Team, you will make sure customers enjoy visiting the market and have a positive experience. Your goal will be to provide fast, easy, and friendly service to our customers through the achievement of Bluewater Kitchen’s customer service standards. In this role, you’ll provide incredible customer service by engaging customers, carefully bagging items, and accurately completing monetary transactions. To be friendly, courteous and cooperative with other store associates. You will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in maintaining standards and maximizing sales through excellent customer service.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote Bluewater Kitchen in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Be dressed in appropriate attire depending on duties performed
  • Display a flexible ‘can do’ approach which will contribute to the success of Bluewater Kitchen
  • To adopt a flexible approach to working hours as required by the business, as we will with you
  • To undertake any other duties, relevant to your skills, which may from time to time be deemed necessary
  • To take personal responsibility for own actions
  • To be open to new ideas, understand the need for change and be willing to adapt
  • Be responsible for your personal presentation, health and physical fitness
  • Maintain a high level of attendance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure that the menu is followed and that presentation standards are met;
  • Ensure that the Grab and Go food items are stocked and rotated appropriately per Company standards;
  • Prepping, stocking, rotating and displaying refrigerated and dry good products;
  • Ensuring product freshness;
  • Maintaining shelf and display cleanliness and organization;
  • Maintain back stockroom organization;
  • Assist customers with locating products and taking special orders;
  • Possess thorough understanding of all health and safety guidelines to deliver an exceptional work and guest experience;
  • Ensure strict compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances;
  • Ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements;
  • Maintain professional image with proper uniforms and appearance standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to perform with the highest professional and ethical standards;
  • Must respond well to a changing work environment and able to perform at the highest level with minimal supervision;
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to proactively recommend solutions;
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service and people skills;
  • Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people and will involve frequent bending;

twisting, squatting, and lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally;

  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills

PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
